Alex Stephens is one of Mobihose’s expert mobile engineers
Meet Alex, one of our highly experienced mobile hose engineers. Here to help 24/7 with parts, consumables and repairs.
We’re always proud to grow the Mobihose team, and today we’re excited to introduce Alex, one of our newest engineers out on the road. With years of experience and a love for the job, Alex has hit the ground running.
A change of culture with Mobihose
Before joining Mobihose, Alex spent nearly five years with a national hydraulic giant in south London, so he knows his way around a machine and a hydraulic leak.
“I got the job through a friend who worked here.” Alex explains. “He told me about the role and the team, and it sounded like a good fit. Turns out, it was.”
Life on the job
What’s a typical day like for Alex?
“It’s mostly driving to different sites to fix leaks and other issues on machines,” he says. “But if it’s quiet, we keep busy in the depot. We’ve just done a full stock count, so there’s always something going on.”
And the most satisfying part?
“Definitely finishing a job that presents a challenge. Often you turn up without knowing exactly what you’re going to be facing and you need to do a bit of problem solving, but that’s what we’re here for! It’s a good feeling.”
How he works
We asked Alex what makes for a good engineer. His answer was simple:
“Don’t rush – just take your time with the job. And once it’s done, explain it clearly to the customer so they know exactly what’s been sorted. That builds confidence.”
Tools
When it comes to tools, Alex has a soft spot for the small adjustable spanners:
“They’re ideal for tight spaces where the big ones can’t reach. Every tool matters – but those ones definitely get me out of a jam.”
Outside of work
When he’s not on call, Alex enjoys playing football and spending time with friends and family. He’s also keen to keep learning on the job:
“I’m happy to pick up anything new I can – and I’m sure I’ll learn loads while I’m here.”
